Dr Nicole Bassett

Head of Philanthropy

Nicole is the Head of Philanthropy for Koi Tū and is responsible for development of philanthropic support and donor stewardship. She has worked with Sir Peter Gluckman both as a research scientist and in philanthropy for many years. Nicole has 25+ years’ experience as a professional fundraiser in health and tertiary sectors. Most recently she spent 10 years developing and stewarding major gift support for the Liggins Institute, Auckland Bioengineering Institute and Koi Tū at the University of Auckland prior to Koi Tū becoming independent. 

Nicole originally trained as a biomedical research scientist with Sir Peter as his first research student. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and Masters of Business Communication from Massey University and a Masters of Physiology and PhD of Paediatrics from the University of Auckland.
