Sir Peter Gluckman named semi-finalist in the 2026 New Zealander of the Year Awards

Koi Tū Centre for Informed Futures is delighted to share that our Director and Managing Trustee, Sir Peter Gluckman, has been named a semi-finalist in the 2026 Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards.

He has also been recognised as a semi-finalist for the Ryman Healthcare Senior New Zealander of the Year Award.

This recognition reflects Sir Peter’s ongoing leadership in strengthening the role of science, evidence and long-term thinking in public life.

Over the past year, he has chaired major national reviews of New Zealand’s science and university systems, helping to chart a future-focused direction for research, innovation and education.

Alongside this work, Sir Peter continues to advance international science cooperation as President of the International Science Council.

At Koi Tū, his leadership supports our mission as an independent, non-partisan think tank focused on long-term wellbeing and evidence-informed policy for Aotearoa.

Koi Tū congratulates Sir Peter, and the other semi-finalists, on their well-deserved recognition. More information about the awards is available at nzawards.org.nz.
