Dr Nina Hood

Honorary Senior Research Fellow

Nina focuses on education in the early childhood and school sectors. Her research agenda is wide ranging. She previously focused on the role of new technologies on education and learning, and more recently has focused on the impact of systemic challenges in education on practice.

She is the founder of The Education Hub, a not-for-profit with a mission to bridge the gap between research and practice in education. The organisation focuses on the translation of educational research into reliable, accessible, and practical resources for teachers and leaders. It also has produced a number of research reports on topical issues in education including curriculum design in schools, the state of literacy in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the impact of Covid-19 on students.

Nina is a trained secondary school teacher.
