Reflections on human potential and resilience

In a commentary published by the International Science Council, Sir Peter Gluckman reflects on the need for the prevailing human development paradigm to be broadened beyond its economic foundation.

He argues that questions around the measurement of human capital could more usefully be reframed as how human potential could be promoted, and he also discusses the centrality of individual and societal resilience in underpinning human centred development.
